Teaching is fun.  And providing education that leads to justice is as good as it gets.

Likewise, it feels wonderful to make a difference for a person struggling with illness, to help them understand what is happening, to help them make the decision that is best for them.

About Us

Yes, that is a bold statement.  But I love what I do.  I am an educator at heart; I teach first and second year medical students making the transition from books to clinical medicine, and I enjoy it so much that I would do it for free—which is how it has worked out.

I grew up in a family of attorneys, and I have helped translate medical information for their cases for a number of years.  I speak legalese fluently, I understand the court system, and I have developed a talent for quickly identifying the important issues of malpractice cases.

I have worked extensively in disability situations.  I know what insurers are looking for, and I know what is irrelevant.

Finally, I have a wide range of medical knowledge, and I know how to find answers to things that I may not be current on.  I have worked in emergency rooms and medical clinics; I have worked in labor suites and operating rooms as an anesthesiologist, and I currently work as a psychiatrist.  Through my PhD in Neuroscience and my own experiences treating and being treated for addiction, I have a deep understanding of addictive substances and their effects on patients.
